On July 20, 2015, the Agricultural Producers Association of Saskatchewan (APAS), the Saskatchewan Wheat Development Commission (Sask Wheat) and the Saskatchewan Barley Development Commission (Sask Barley) hosted the 2015 Farmers’ Forum on Grain Transportation in Saskatoon, SK. The Farmer’s Forum was a major success with over 170 participants in attendance.

There are few more pressing issues facing Western Canadian agriculture than grain transportation and getting our products to market in a timely and reliable manner. Agricultural producers clearly have a direct financial interest in railway and grain handling capacity. This is why the organizers of the Farmers’ Forum event, APAS, Sask Wheat, Sask Barley, will continue to provide input into the legislative process with the goal of ensuring producer interests are reflected in the design and operational effectiveness of the grain handling and transportation system.
