Update: Fire Ban Lifted – Call Controlled Burn Line prior to burning

The October 5, 2021 Fire Ban has been lifted effective October 14, 2021.  Please continue to use caution when burning, especially if the winds are high.


Ratepayers are encouraged to view the Wildfire in Saskatchewan webpage for current information such as:

  • Active wildfire map
  • Provincial and municipal fire ban maps
  • Daily fire danger map
  • Procedure to obtain a burn notification number if you plan to burn in or within 4.5 km of a provincial forest

As always, please call the controlled burn line at 1-866-404-4911 whenever you plan to burn.

The number is answered 24/7 – 365 days.

Questions you will be asked:

  • What is your land location?
  • What is your RM number?
  • Who is your Fire Service Provider?
  • What are the location details?
  • What are you burning?
  • How long will your burn last?
  • Your name and phone number.

You will be asked to call back once the burn has been completed.

Fire Ban

Effective 3:00 pm on May 11, 2021 the RM of Clayton No. 333 is under a fire ban in accordance with Bylaw 2018-01.  All fires must be extinguished immediately.

Fire Ban Update

As of 10:00 am the fire ban in the RM of Clayton has been lifted.  We urge everyone to use caution when burning, especially in high winds.

Fire Ban

The Rural Municipality of Clayton No. 333 is under a fire ban effective April 24, 2019 at 12:04 p.m.  All Fires must be extinguished by 4:00 p.m. today.

Office Closure

The RM office will be closed for Administrator Holidays for the week of  Sept 3.  It will reopen on September 10, 2018 at 9:00 am.

Dyck Memorial Bridge

The Dyck Memorial Road west of Swan Plain will be closed August 6, 2018.  The bridge replacement will start, the bridge will be removed completely so please do not cross the barricades.  The workers will completely stop working whenever someone other than a crew member comes on site, this will make the job take longer than need be, projections are that the replacement will take 4 – 6 weeks.

Sturgis & District Rural Fire Co-Operative

The Sturgis Rural Fire Coop passed the following resolution at the last regular meeting;

“That all call outs for controlled burns that are not called into the burn line be subject to a minimum charge as set by the Rural Fire Coop.”

This means if you do not call in a controlled burn to the burn line at 1-866-404-4911, and the fire department is dispatched to the fire, you will be charged a minimum charge for the call out, the charges are at the discretion of the Rural Fire Coop.

Swan Plain Bridge

The bridge that is west of Swan Plain on the Dyck Memorial Road will be replaced this year.  Construction should begin by the end of July and the job will be completed within 8 weeks.  During the construction that section of the Dyck Memorial Road shall be closed completely.  Please do not cross the barricades, let the crew work as the bridge will be completely removed.

Fire Ban

The Fire Ban that was put on for our Municipality has been temporarily lifted but ONLY FOR West of Grid 650.  So that is Hyas-Danbury west, please exercise extreme caution, if it is windy or dries up any more please refrain from burning.

Hyas-Danbury East is still under a Fire Ban, no burning is allowed.
